Bounce House Rentals in Concord
Compare prices from local vendors delivering to Concord β plus which Concord parks allow inflatables, the city's approved-vendor program, and Diablo Valley summer-party tips
Concord is the largest city in Contra Costa County (~127,000 residents) and one of the more inflatable-friendly cities in the Bay Area. Unlike neighboring Walnut Creek (which bans inflatables in every city park), Concord allows bounce houses at the reservable group picnic sites of four of its six largest parks β provided your vendor is on the City's approved-insurance list. That single rule shapes nearly every park-based party decision in Concord.
Most Concord parties happen in one of three places: a backyard in the Crossings, Colony Park, or Tanglewood neighborhoods (private setups, no permit needed); a reservable picnic site at Concord Community Park, Newhall, or Hillcrest (city permit + vendor on the approved list); or out at the East Bay Regional Park District parks just outside the city limits, which use a separate permit process. The math depends on how many guests you're hosting, whether you want shaded picnic tables included, and whether your vendor already has insurance on file with the City.
Concord's inland Diablo Valley climate is one of the most reliable in the Bay Area for outdoor parties. July and August highs sit in the low 80s with essentially zero rain June through September β ideal water-slide weather. That reliability makes Concord one of the busiest bounce house markets in Contra Costa, so summer Saturdays at the popular Concord Community Park sites get reserved 6+ months out.
With JumpFun, you can compare prices from local vendors delivering to Concord, see which vendors are already approved for City of Concord parks, and book online without calling around.

Concord Park Rules for Inflatables
Concord allows bounce houses at the reservable group picnic sites of four of its six major parks β Concord Community Park, Hillcrest Community Park, Newhall Community Park, and Meadow Homes Park (regular picnic sites, not the spray park itself). The other two β John F. Baldwin Park and Ygnacio Valley Park β don't permit inflatables at all. Across all parks that do allow them, the same rules apply: picnic site reservation required, $1M/$2M liability insurance required from the rental company, $200 damage deposit, and one inflatable per reserved site.
Picnic site reservation required (no walk-up inflatables)
Inflatables are only allowed at designated reservable group picnic sites β never in general park areas, fields, or playgrounds. Reservations open up to one year in advance and can be made online or by calling the Registration Office at (925) 671-3404. Walk-up bounce houses are not permitted.
Vendor must carry $1M/$2M liability insurance, on file with the City
Concord requires your inflatable rental company to carry general liability insurance of at least $1,000,000 per occurrence and $2,000,000 aggregate, with bodily injury and property damage coverage. The City keeps an approved-vendor list of companies whose certificates are already on file β ask Recreation Services for the current list before booking. If your vendor isn't on it, they need to submit insurance paperwork ahead of your event.
$200 non-refundable damage/compliance deposit
On top of the picnic site fee, every Concord park reservation requires a $200 deposit at the time of booking. It's refunded after the event if the site is left clean and there are no rule violations.
One inflatable per reserved picnic site
Concord caps each reserved site at a single inflatable structure. If you want a bounce house and a separate water slide, you'll need to reserve two adjacent sites at a park that has them (Concord Community Park has three; Newhall has two).
Refund schedule: 75% / 50% / 0%
Cancel 60+ days before the event for a 75% refund of the picnic fee; 30β60 days out for 50%; less than 30 days, no refund. The $200 deposit is non-refundable separately.
Stakes prohibited; sandbags or water barrels only
All inflatable anchoring at Concord park sites must use sandbags or water barrels supplied by the vendor. Stakes are prohibited because of irrigation and turf concerns.
Alcohol permits available at four parks ($100)
Concord Community Park, Hillcrest, and Newhall picnic sites accept alcohol permits ($100 separate fee). Baldwin Park, Ygnacio Valley Park, and Meadow Homes do not allow alcohol regardless. Alcohol permit is independent of the inflatable permit.
Permits & Reservations
Gathering Permit
Concord doesn't have a separate 'inflatable permit' β bringing a bounce house is included in your picnic site reservation as long as the park allows inflatables and your vendor's insurance is on file. The picnic site reservation is the only city paperwork you need.
Special Event Permit
Larger events (200+ guests, multi-site bookings, amplified sound, or street closures) go through Concord's Special Event Permit process via the city Permit Center. This is rarely needed for a typical birthday party but applies to school carnivals, neighborhood block parties, and similar.
Group Picnic Reservation
Concord operates a clean tiered picnic-site system across six parks. Capacity ranges from 48 to 240 guests; resident/non-resident pricing applies. Four of the six parks allow inflatables; check the park-by-park breakdown below before reserving.
Available at: Concord Community Park (3 sites β inflatables OK), Newhall Community Park (2 sites β inflatables OK), Hillcrest Community Park (1 site β inflatables OK), Meadow Homes Park (2 sites β inflatables OK at regular picnic sites; NOT at the spray park), John F. Baldwin Park (1 site β no inflatables), Ygnacio Valley Park (1 site β no inflatables)

Frequently Asked Questions
Yes β at four of Concord's six reservable park complexes: Concord Community Park, Newhall Community Park, Hillcrest Community Park, and the regular picnic sites at Meadow Homes Park (not the spray park itself). John F. Baldwin Park and Ygnacio Valley Park don't permit inflatables. You'll need a picnic site reservation, a vendor with $1M/$2M liability insurance on file with the City, and a $200 damage deposit.
Concord Community Park (3501 Cowell Road) is the most popular β three reservable sites covering 72 to 240 guests, all inflatable-friendly, alcohol permits available. Site 2 (240 capacity, $387 resident / $433 non-resident) is the largest in the city and fits big school or extended-family events. For smaller groups, Newhall Community Park's creek-side oak grove is a quieter alternative β and easier to reserve last-minute since Concord Community is the city's flagship.
Two things: (1) general liability insurance of at least $1M per occurrence / $2M aggregate covering bodily injury and property damage, and (2) a copy of the certificate on file with City Recreation Services. Concord maintains an approved-vendor list β ask the Registration Office at (925) 671-3404 for the current version before you book. If your vendor isn't on the list, they can submit paperwork, but allow 1β2 weeks lead time.
No city permit required for inflatables on private residential property in Concord. Standard requirements: 110V outlet within 50β100 feet of the setup, 3 feet of clearance on all sides, and no overhead power lines or low branches. Concord's typical suburban lot β Crossings, Tanglewood, Colony Park, Dana Estates, Holbrook Heights β comfortably fits a 15Γ15 standard bouncer or a 30Γ15 combo unit.
A standard bounce house in Concord runs $165β$265 for a full day with delivery and setup. Combo units (bounce + slide) are $295β$450; water slides are $315β$525; obstacle courses are $395β$750. If you're setting up at a city park, add the picnic site fee ($161β$433) and the $200 damage deposit. Concord pricing sits a touch below Tri-Valley rates and roughly matches Walnut Creek and Pleasant Hill.
Reservations open one year ahead. For summer Saturdays at Concord Community Site 1 or Site 2, book 4β6 months out β those slots fill quickly. Newhall and Hillcrest typically have availability 4β8 weeks ahead even for weekends. Off-season (OctoberβApril) is open most weekends with 1β2 weeks notice. Call (925) 671-3404 or use the online portal at cityofconcord.org.
Yes, at the same four parks that allow bounce houses, with the same rules: insurance, deposit, picnic-site reservation, no stakes (sandbags only). One inflatable per reserved site β so if you want a separate bounce house and water slide, you'll need to reserve two adjacent sites. Concord Community Park has three sites side-by-side, which makes it the easiest park for multi-inflatable setups. Vendors will typically supply a long hose; Concord's picnic sites with running water (Concord Community Site 2, Newhall Site 1) are the easiest.
May through October. July and August hit 82β84Β°F highs with zero rain β peak water-slide weather. The Diablo Valley climate gives Concord essentially uninterrupted party weather June through September. Avoid November through February for the rainy season; March and April are gambles unless you can reschedule.
Concord's refund policy is tied to advance-notice, not weather: 75% refund if you cancel 60+ days out, 50% with 30β60 days, no refund within 30 days. Most vendors will honor a free reschedule if rain forces a cancellation, but the picnic site fee is at the City's discretion. The $200 deposit is non-refundable separately. Practical move: if there's a forecast risk, reschedule early enough to recover the picnic fee.
Yes β East Bay Regional Park District parks just outside Concord (Lime Ridge, Diablo Foothills, parts of Mt. Diablo State Park) allow inflatables under EBRPD's separate $75 Inflatable Play Equipment Permit process. Useful if Concord's city sites are booked. Call EBRPD at 1-888-EBPARKS (327-2757), option 2 to find a specific site. The downside: EBRPD parks have a different approved-vendor list than Concord, so check that your vendor covers both.
