Common options include pop-up canopies (10'×10'), frame tents (no center poles, clean interior), and pole tents (larger, supported by center and perimeter poles). Pop-up canopies are the most affordable; frame tents are the most versatile.

A good rule of thumb is 10–15 square feet per standing guest, or 8–10 square feet per seated guest. A 20×20 tent (400 sq ft) comfortably seats about 40 people or holds 30 standing. Your company can help calculate the right size.

Frame tents and pop-up canopies can be set up on hard surfaces using weight plates or water barrels instead of stakes. Pole tents typically require stakes in grass. Confirm the setup surface with your company.

Sidewalls are available as an add-on for most tents. They provide wind protection, privacy, and rain coverage. Options include solid walls, windowed walls, and mesh walls for airflow.

Basic tents don't include lighting. Many companies offer string lights, uplighting, or chandelier add-ons. For evening events, plan for lighting — a tent without lights gets dark fast after sunset.

Tents handle light rain well. For heavy rain, sidewalls are recommended. Most tents should be taken down in winds over 30 mph. Companies monitor weather and will advise on safety precautions.
